![]() I thought it might be when I installed the AMD driver, but I tried uninstalling it and it didn't help. I updated all graphic drivers, I searched almost everywhere, but the brightness is just binary: once I turned on my computer, the screen stays either super dark or super bright. I would typically be able to control the volume/mute and also change the brightness just by pressing the buttons (F1, F11/F12) without having to use the function button but since this week, they dont seem to work at all, pressing the function button doesnt work, either. I'm not sure if the brightness settings ever worked after the Windows 10 reinstall, and if they did, I do not know at what point they stopped working. While I can normally control brightness when I'm using my Linux/Ubuntu partition, that just doesn't work for Windows. The sound bar in the system tray also doesnt work. After that, turn off the toggle next to Night light if it is turned on. There are no brightness settings in the control panel power settings, and when I click the battery icon on the taskbar (Windows 10), the brightness option is grayed out! The Windows Mobility Centre brightness control allows me to move the slider but there is no actual change in brightness. Expand the Brightness menu and uncheck the boxes beside Change brightness automatically when lighting changes and Help improve battery by optimizing the content shown and brightness. ![]() And now under Display settings Windows has the Screen brightness slider added. After installing the motherboard driver software I was able to adjust the screen brightness after a system restart. But the thing is I havent installed the Intel Chipset Driver software. ![]() ![]() Not only do they not work with the keyboard, I also cannot adjust the brightness any other way. Enabling and disabling it doesnt help either. After installing the Function Key Desktop App every single one of the Fn keys worked without pressing the Fn button, apart from Brightness Up and Brightness Down, which didn't work at all with or without the Fn key. Straight after the Windows 10 reinstall, the Fn keys (volume, flight mode etc) worked when I held down the Fn key, which wasn't what I wanted. I have since reinstalled the AMD graphics driver, the Toshiba Function Key Desktop App, The Toshiba Value Added Package (this only gave me the battery manger and the PC diagnostic tool), so I then manually found and installed the Toshiba System Settings and the Toshiba HWsetup Utility. So I decided to come here and see if anyone has managed to fix this problem by any other means? Would appreciate any help, would really like to make the move to windows 7 but the maxed brightness is too damn annoying for my eyes for any length of time.I recently reinstalled Windows 10, and so lost all of the Toshiba software that came with the laptop.
